backup .tar.gz files to multisession CD-R?

I'm running Mandrake 10.1 and I want to a script that I schedule to run every night, that will take any .tar.gz files in a specified directory (say /home/me/backup) and burn them to a CD? They will be rather small, and I want to add them to a single multisession CD-R instead of just writing it to the CD... how could I burn those files using multi-session?

Never burned anything on Linux. However, I can tell you how to backup that.
tar -cvzf home_backup.tar.gz /home/me/backup
The -v (verbose) is optional..
