I am having trouble on the opening gnome login screen. There appears to be some garbage characters in the username field (I see several dots in the username field) which causes an error window to keep popping up repeatedly saying 'Authentication Failed' and does not allow me to enter anything in username. I suspect that there is either tab or newline characters in the username field.
Where are these weird characters in the username field coming from? If these are in some gnome configuration file, where is this file stored? :confused:
btw - my configuration is SuSE9.2 running gnome 2.11 - fresh gnome rpms downloaded from suse. Everything had worked fine on gnome 2.6.
