Hello, I recently downloaded and burned Debian disks 2 and 3. I did the first one on my machine back when I had broadband, but for the other 2, I had to use a win98 box at work that had EZ cd creator on it. The problem is, using them in an older Gateway machine the cdrom won't even read them. It just spools up and clicks a few times repeatedly. but I can't mount them. The first one has no problems, and all of them work in my newer boxes. Is there some option that anyone knows of that I need to use to make the disk compatible with older atapi cdroms? If so, is there any way to make iso images out of the ones that I already made and "reburn" them the proper way. I'm on a libranet 2.8.1 machine right now.

I would guess the discs 2 and 3 have errors on (most likely caused by burning at too high a speed) that your older drive can't deal with, but your newer drive can. Try burning them again at a slower speed. Copying the discs you have may work, it has done for me when A Win98SE install disc would no longer be read correctly on the machine I was trying to install to, I made a copy and the copy worked, but I wouldn't gaurantee it will work in your case, so only do it if you don't mind taking the risk of losing a couple of CD-Rs. Alternatively just transplant a newer drive into the machine for the install, and you can swap it back when you are done.
