hi there :D

i've got fedora core 4 (kernel 2.6.11) running on an iMac G3 just fine.

a little birdy told me that you can get mac osx software to run linux machines with a few modifications. is it true?

I hope it's true because i really want flash, yahoo messenger, and java developer's kit on this machine and they don't make it for linux ppc BUT they DO make it for mac osx and linux x86.

if you know of such a thing; would you kindly sages please point me in the right direction, please. :D

well almost-the api's are different but you can use MOL to launch an instance of OSX and do ur stuff from there. But there really isnt a way to modify the binaries to work under ppc linux

The only thing I've heard of is Mac-on-linux (http://www.maconlinux.org/) and I believe you'll need a copy of OS X for it. I haven't heard of any other way, but I've never used a Mac or even a PPC machine, so I've never looked to see if there are any other options.

yeah...

i wish mol were an option; but i bought this imac at a yard sale and the previous owners lost thier cd's.

also, my friend is too scared to make me a copy of the osx cd that they use at his job.

 looks like i'm gonna have to find that birdy and strangle it for lying to me. ;)
