I want to learn ruby together with OOP concept. Should I learn c++ first and then ruby? Or just straight to ruby?

I have a basic C knowledge.

Thx

Interesting...I had never heard of ruby before. If you're going to want to learn any OOP style language I would highly recommend Java, especially if you already have some C skills. You'll be familiar with much of the syntax, and it's much more popular than ruby. That being said, ruby looks pretty neat, and I might dabble with it for a bit. It's apparently a scripting language so that's interesting, but I would imagine that if you have some basic C knowledge, the jump to C++ isn't a huge one, so I'm not sure what that would gain for you really. I'd say don't be afraid of ruby (if that's the OOP you choose) even if you're not a C++ guru. Do what you think feels right, and if you later discover that you're not well equipped...switch to something else and learn there. I think any way you choose to go, you're going to learn something more than what you know now. Good luck!
