Hi guys,
My friend and I have been putting the final touches on our website this week, and are ready to host it on a real server. I expect everything to go pretty smoothly.
The one thing I'm not so sure about is setting up our MySQL database on the new server. We don't want/need to bring over the actual content, just a fresh database.
We're not really database programmers, and this is our first big website project. How do I go about making a fresh version of the database server-side? Does mysql-admin have some way to copy the scripts/queries that set up the tables?
I'm hoping it's simple, I just want to have some guidance before we go live, which may be late tonight.
The server will be running Unix, naturally. I'll post a link when it's up. It's a nifty site.

You'll set it up just like any other mysql database, just be sure to use good passwords ;)

One nice tool I've found that really helps with the DB n00b is phpMyAdmin (http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/index.php)

When I had to move my database to a different server and I used PHPMyAdmin to export the various tables to a SQL file then imported them into a new database on the server. If you are not worried about the content after importing them go through with PHPMyadmin and delete all the content from each table.

Hope it helps.

Joel
