Avatar for me

I was reading here that I can choose an avatar to go under my login name and when i have reached 25 posts I can have an image of my own choosing. How do I get an avatar from your range now as the page does not show any avatars at all even though it says we can choose anyone that is displayed, none is displayed.

There aren't any to choose from, so that is why none show up on the list. You have to use your own.

So you have to post 25 times before you can get an avatar. which kind of sucks. but I'm sure you'll get your 25 posts in before you know it.

Here (http://www.iconutils.com/iconomaker/) is the program I used to create mine. It lets you import jpeg or other picture files and make them into .ico files.

just get somebody to take your picture with a digital camera and shrink the image with the gimp. works great!

Are you gonna reuse your old avatar? Also, if you want to get your post count back (I don't know if you care at all) you need to talk to bprofitt.

I changed my name once too, and I had to talk to him to get it done (the date you "registered" will not change).

BTW I checked out your blog- and I think you could make something really useful with it. PM me if you're interested in help.

Another note (back on topic) for the avatar is the size- make sure it looks good small!!

Thanks for the tip. I'd like to preserve my post count, but more than that I would like to preserve the date of my joining the JL forum. That date has huge sentimental value, becasue it represents the first time I went online with a linux computer. When I was logging on with Windows I used the name spiderbaby1958, but once I was running the Real Thing I got a brand new name!

I just registered debianjones.com (http://www.debianjones.com) with GoDaddy, and this has made me reconsider using Debian Jones as a nick in this forum. Now that I'm officially a dot com (as we all know, a sure path to fiancial success). it all seems a little too nakedly self-promoting and spammy. It might even be against the rules. So I'm gonna stick with using Blackbelt Jones, with a little Debian Jones link at the bottom of each post. Like so:
