Easy to copy artwork for case

I'm looking for something that'll look good painted on my custom case, but I need it to be simple/easy for me to copy as art isn't my strong point. What is currently the front of the case measures 75mm x 240 mm and the side measures 365 mm x 240 mm. The main thing is that is has to look good and for it to be easy for me to copy, but linux/computer related would be prefered, but NOT distro specific. Suggestions please.

Well - the obvious one would be Tux.

Take a look at some of the stuff over at http://www.openclipart.org - they have a computer section which includes some Linux-related logos.

I think I have to agree with Hayl here. Just leave the case alone. Get one that you like the look of before you buy it or just paint it a solid color if you don't like the color for whatever reason. If you paint a graphic of some kind on it who's to say you'll be happy you did that later on down the road. Just another 2 cents added.

just some vinyal decals might work.
you can have em custom made at a decent price.
and if you decide you dont like them ....peel em off.:D </2cents>

speaking of painting cases, does anyone here know of a good online guide to painting an aluminum case? I know there was an article in MaximumPC a few months ago but i never could find a copy of it where i live.

I second that. You can even print them out yourself if you have a decent color printer.

Youre gonna be kicking yourself when you have to buy a new case because you grew out of your old design and cant sell the old one either.

Think of it as tattooing your case. Dont do it unless youre absolutely sure you want to live with it forever on your case.

I is a case I made out of an old file box, it looks ugly as is and needs to be painted and if I don't like it I can always repaint or make another. I have plenty of spare time, which is why I made the case and want to do something which will take a bit longer and is more interesting than painting it a solid colour.

Thanks for the input, I haven't had time to look through the links yet, but I will later and hopefully find something I like and can use. Deviant Art isn't particually useful however as there is far too much good quality stuff there which would be too difficult for me to copy, but thanks anyway.
