Hi, I have installed warty. Upgraded to hoary and am very happy with ubuntu except for the fact I cannot get my sound to work. I have asked for in help in the ubuntu fourms with no help.

I am using a P-III 450 with a cs-4232 sound card. When i try anything like alsamixer or alsaclt I get errors that so such thing. Please help!!

My sound works with the other distros I have used like Yoper and Slackware. With those all i needed to do was run alsaconfig and all was well. I tried that with ubuntu but it said not found. I'm so confused. Thanks for any help!

Is the correct module loaded?

'lsmod' will show you all the modules loaded.

ubuntu is debian based. you could try an apt-get for the latest ALSA debian packages if they are not on your system.

There are a number of threads on here about sound configuration. Have you tried a formum search? Audio problems have been covered many times on these forums.
