I'm completely new to linux, and so far I love it. I absolutely do not wish to go back to Windows. But, I have a big problem, my GeForce 6800 wont work with Ubuntu. Whenever I have it installed, the Windows X wont start. If I type 'startx' at the prompt, it will just go back to the prompt and not start. I've tried Mandrake and it is cool, but I can't get the NVidia drivers to install on it! At the moment I am using my old GeForce FX 5600 with this Ubuntu install and X started just fine. Any suggestions please? I don't want to use this slower card with my computer.

Well, we'll probably need the errors that you're getting before we can troubleshoot. :)

That said, are you using the latest nVidia drivers?

At this point, those are here:
