Hey everyone. I am running Damn SMall Linux, and have Bigpond Boradband internt. However, i would like to get it to work on linux. I have an ethernet port adapter that plugs into my usb socket so i can have ethernet, and Bigpond Internet gives you an system exe fiel to run as the manager, which logs you in and connects you to broadband. How am i gonna get it to run on linux? thanks.

Brand/model of your USB ethernet adapter?

Google is just amazing! (http://bpalogin.sourceforge.net/) This sounds like an open source client which does what you want.

answer timothykaine first.
anyway, if your usb ethernet adaptor does not work, you can always get a real ethernet card for your computer, that will work at the maximum efficiency. usb ethernet adaptors are not reliable in anyway because they really have to be cheap, and thus move some load to the computer to run.

Dr Chucks suggestion DOES look like something you will want, but you might want to first find out if your ethernet USB module is even working...
And yes, I also second XiaoKJ in saying you should try to go for a PCI card if you can. Theyre cheap, anyways. Worth it for the reliability.

no. get a pcmcia ethernet adaptor
Since you are already there, why not try the 2208 driver? you MAY get rewards.... READ its MAY!!!!
anyway, if you got it for free, I've read on net that bigpond used to give 2202 free. I think its the same one. 2202 and 2208 have linux drivers. 2202 uses the pegasus one though
