Hi,

I'm buying a new computer, however I don't have the possibility to chose the components separately and I'm a bit concerned about the graphics card.

The card I'm getting is a 256MB ATI RADEON X850 XT, VIVO, DVI, Tv-out, PCIe x16.

I know that there problems getting ATI cards to work properly in Linux because of the drivers. I'm now using an old nvidia card with tv-out that works very well. Has anyone gotten tv-out to work with ATI cards without ripping their hair off?

Also, I've been searching a bit for reviews of the card without finding much, so does anyone know if it's a descent card, not considering the problems I might get in Linux?

Thanks

ATI and linux do not mix well

of course you can, but they don't mix well

if you can, buy it then buy a Nvidia card to put in it.

Finally, if you are no gamer, then go ahead --- the problematic parts are the 3d and opengl ones.

Thanks.

I don't game that much from Linux so that's not a major issue. The most important thing for me is to get the tv-out to work.
