is a free email service that you do not sign up for. If a site wants a email address for a confirmation or you just need an email address to give to avoid any spam, use "anythingyoulike@mailinator.com". The email lasts about 2-3 hours. No login, just sign in with the address you used. If it's something popular like "frodo@mailinator.com" it may get written over.
No strings, no giving of any info, you do not even have to visit the site first. Just use 'heyyou@mailinator.com" and then go to the home page and enter the address. Remember, it only lasts 2-3 hours and then is deleted. And the address can only be 15 letters or less before the "@mailinator.com".

Another similar service that I like is Spam Gourmet (http://www.spamgourmet.com). The graphics on their website kind of scare me and it's not quite as simple because you have to sign up first, but it lets you specify how many of the e-mails you want to let through if you are signing up for something that requires confirmation. It forwards the specified number of messages and then eats the rest.

The real shame is that you even need services like this. Stupid &*%&(#@$)(*&(#%&ing spammers:mad:
