After destroying a few laptops I wonder if the $4k price tag is worth it. If i can find it at a store maybe they will let me boot knoppix so I can see what works

For the times that I am using my laptop I don't think it would be worth the hefty price tag. I think if I was a business that was heavily into military apps where I was always going out to test sites or on test flights I might invest that kind of money. I think that it is a little overkill for most users though. I think if I was really worried about killing my laptop I would find some kind of protective sleeve that could pad it and wrap around the outer surfaces. Or you could just take it a little easier on your laptops. :p

Operating system: Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional delivers a stable platform for field computing situations
HA HA HA :D
that makes me laugh. Especialy that word "stable" and the fact that it refers to windows.

I think the Panasonic Tough Books look much nicer.
