Hi I'd like to slow down my DVD drive as i use it in my HTPC in the lounge for watching DVD's and it makes way too much noise at full speed. I've got a copy of cdspeed bit it only seems to work with my CD drive and i can't find an app that will do the same for my DVD drive. Anyone know of anything or way.
Thanks
Rob.

Taken from http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-lin-soft-en/table.shtml
1) mount -o speed=<speed>
2) hdparm -E <speed>
3) eject -x <speed>
4) cdspeed.

I don't want to turn off DMA as that will increase CPU usage I just want it to spin slower.
I've tried all the options listed above b4 none of them work with my DVD drive, they work for my CDRom. Has anyone tired them with a DVD drive or got any other ideas.
