Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : KDE automount ... how to shut this off?

Hi...

I'm running Fedora Core 2 , KDE 3.2.2

The box I'm wanting to disable the automount on is a dedicated MythTV box.

I'm wanting to use it as a DVD player as well, but every time I insert a DVD, mythfrontend loses focus because KDE pops a window up with the DVD contents. Another problem with the automount is that I then have to manually unmount the DVD to get it to eject. Not too slick for a HTPC.

I've done many searches, and I'm having trouble finding how to disable the automount.

I believe it is a KDE setting. With that being my assumption, I've been looking through the KDE control center but have not located the option to stop this behavior.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Terry

Disable automount in /etc/fstab and see if that does it.

I will take a glance at this tonight.

I appreciate your reply... Just been busy lately and unable to follow up.

Thanks again. I will respond with my results this evening.

I believe this is my answer (found on http://www.wilsonet.com/mythtv/)

$ rm ~/.kde/Autostart/Autorun.desktop

I will follow up with whether this worked or not when I try it tonight.

This did it. Myth just ripped a DVD and is now transcoding it.
