I want to put together a slide show that includes jpg's (or any pic) and avi's (or any video)

I know how to slideshow just pic's and i could just stream all my video's into one, but is there something that will let me splice them all together for a continious show of still pictures and video?

I believe the Pinnical Studio's products do this, but guess what? Windows only.

I would love to do this in linux, though

There is a FOSS DVD slideshow/media presentation program or program group out there. I ran across it in my wanderings a while back, but I remember virtually nothing about it (must be a virtual memory problem).

You could try a search on sourceforge, which is where I think I saw it.

I made a dvd 'slide show' of pictures and videos for my younger brothers baseball team a while back, i used the mjpeg toolset and dvdauthor. of course since your videos are AVI's to go this route you would need to transcode them to mpg's, i'd suggest avidemux for this.
