My questions:

1- Can any linux disk partition utility format a hard drive in PPC file system?
2- Can any Linux (any particular distro) read a PPC file system?
3- Can Linux write to a PPC file system?

Best regards, Ramin

I like xhfs, from the hfsutils package (ebuild is in gentoo, otherwise you might have to google for it). All distro's can read HFS - it's something in the kernel. Browse around in the File Systems section - and have a look at the Help. I'm not sure how well write is supported - at most experimental. It is _dangerous_.

Mac Classic filesystem (pre OS X) or Unix-like file system (OS X new fs)?

Both are available IIRC, but the UFS is safer for read/write.

Or, if you are installing linux on a mac, just use ext2/3 - thats what I'm using on my iMac "server" running DebainPPC.

I mean new macs where the file system is hfs.
