Hello

I have cable internet. When I directly connect from the broadband modem to my computer I can get online in Slack but when I run it through my router, nothing happens. I ran ifconfig while it was connected to the router and eth0 doesnt come up. When I'm not connected to the router, ifconfig shows eth0 with an ip. Do I need change anything with Address Mapping or Virtual Server? I have a Zonet ZSR0104D router. I have ran netconfig, selected DHCP and rebooted.

is it true that your router is now DHCP server and your PC cannot get an address?

it may be that the DHCP settings for your PC is a little garbled.

can you manually assign an address to eth0 to test if your system can go online before you try others?

For Windows XP I had to setup Address Mapping, I have plenty of virtual ips 192.168.2. 100-251 that can be used. For some reason Slack just isnt gettin one.
