yesterday i had installed lorma 4.1 to do a few labs for school. i got everything working nice and even wrote a few skripts for fun. Now im tryin to get online on windowXP. for some reason installing linux Dualboot has rendered my internet connection for windows.. how do i fix this without uninstalling linux on my machine?

You're going to need to give some more information.

How is your connection set up?
Do you have a router, or are you just plugged directly into the DSL/Cable modem/Ethernet port?
Are you even using broadband, or are you using dialup?
What errors are you getting in Windows, if any?
Any other symptoms of the problem?

It's unlikely that simply installing linux has changed anything about the connection.

oh yeah i knew this post would come next.. sorry for lack of info.. but here it goes.. im using broadband and its connected straight to the pc . In windows i am connected .. well i have a established IP and the data light is blinking on my cable modem, but i cannot connect to any type of server.
ipconfig reselts---- data is sent but no return packets. and when i do a tracert it returns 1hop i hope this helps.. and i hope u can help me.. if you cant.. maybe u can tell me how to uninstall linux haha..

Are you getting an IP similar to the one you get in Linux?

thats weird.. the ip address is differnt when i ifconfig in linux a class a address and a class c in windows

Can you ping your modem?? I have never bothered to use a modem, I always use a DSL router, much easier....

Also what about your DNS settings?? Also don't you need to set your DSL as your gateway?
