System - VectorLinux 4.3
In summary I have client PC's, all which runs with UltraVNC due to the fact that it's the only free VNC server I know of that have encyption plugin included (RC4). They all use the plugin to encrypt their datastream.
However I want to set up Linux on my laptop rather than Windows 98 (cut down with 98Lite) and VectorLinux is the choice due to spec of laptop.
I know that UltraVNC does not have a Linux version :(
So I wondered?
If I get WINE and install that on Linux - would it run UltraVNC Viewer with the RC4 plugin? I believe that the RC4plugin use Microsoft's RC4 encryption to work so am not sure if WINE will work with that?
Alternatively, I'm happy to consider alternative method such as the use of OpenVPN which I know is more secure than the RC4 plugin (goes up to 128bits only) but therelies yet another problem...
Ideally if using OpenVPN (or others) I'll like to connect to a single computer running either Windows 2000 Professional or Windows 2000 Server and then from there browse the rest of the network using a single VPN link (rather than setting up separate VPN links for each PC!)
I'm not yet sure how to enable IP forwarding or whatever I need to allow me to browse the rest of the internal network when I VPN to a W2K Pro/Svr machine?
OR if anyone else have suggestions/alternative methods, please post!
Many thanks
By the way, I'm still a novice to Linux, be gentle with me :D
