just a simple little question, is there a way to get away from the default look in the KDE/GNOME in the Suse desktop enviornment?

I was looking at a gnome desktop that I like but Im not sure how to make those little lizzards disapear.

Yeah; you could either install another theme for KDE or GNOME, or you could search for the icon you want to change, change it to something you like, save it, and restart x.

I would think that all you would have to do would be to install a new theme...

check out art.gnome.org (i think thats the site) and I don't off hand know of any kde ones. (although the gnome art site might have a kde based sister site)

well, this I thought about prior, so I tried to install a new theme through the Yast section of theme's and icons and I got a wrong filetype message.
rpm's didnt work neither did bz and gzips..

I don't see why not?
It would be like any other upgrade, but be prepared to upgrade a ton of other packages relying on the gnome-libs too.
