I installed Suse 9.1 Pro (i thought) on a full 20gig drive hda. and hdb is 120 gigs of storage. It turns out now that I have hda configured the way that I want it, I have 15 gigs at the end of the drive un-used. Is there a way for me to expand my / to use this remaining 15 gigs.. I know yast2 has a module that will do this but I'm still kinda worried and just want to know some opinions. Thanks.

In Yast2, under System, there is the option to partition your hardware under "partitioning program".
Click OK when you get the warning that partitioning software is dangerous to use and that you have to be absolutely sure that you know what you are doing...

Now, select the partition you want to expand, click the 'Resize' button on the bottom of the program, select the desired HDD space and click OK (or Apply)

Reboot the system so that the changes can take effect.
That should be all you have to do.

I followed your directions but when I click apply i get "failed" there is no report but here are my results from the 'mount' command, could it be that I have to change the permissions first?

/dev/hda6 on / type reiserfs (rw,acl,user_xattr)

hope this helps. Thanks.
