Ok, this is enlightenment, the latest 16.x (16.5?); well both are the same. The theme is Tesla for the gtk on the main screen, and the vnc machine needs every bit of power it can get so it's gtk themeless. I forget the enlightenment windeco, I got it off freshmeat, near the end I think.
The code is for a current project (and the Linus quote has special meaning for the quality of it's style) that's unreleased (don't get excited, I'm lazy).

nope its just the default one for kde

i'm using Taskbar v2 (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=16261) to get the transparent window list, and Crystal (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=13969) for the window decoration.

please repost your screenshot. your thread was split out as you were asking a question unrelated to this thread. per our posting guidelines, please create new threads when you need to ask a question - do not hijack other threads.

your question about fluxbox is here:

If you don't have OB3 and Devil's Pie just use Eterm to get rid of the decorations.

The console on the bottom is actuall Eterm. Its actually quite simple heres the command i used
Eterm -O -x --buttonbar 0 --scrollbar 0 --font-fx none --pointer-color red --cursor-color green -g 168x7+0+68

The -g 168x7+0+68 sets the size and position. -O is for tarnsparency -x is for no window decoration. The rest is kinda self explanitory

Here's my new desktop background and recently installed Mandrake distro. I got sick of using Win98, so made a backup, pulled out the HDD, installed a 80GB HDD (instead of the 2GB HDD with Win98 on it) and make a nice 1 partition system.

Now this PC is humming along quite happy on a 100% full Linux distro! No dual boot any more. Woohoo.

BTW, the background reflects my next dream CPU (I'm building the system already BTW, I just need the CPU's, full tower case with lots of 80 and 120mm fans and the motherboard. After that, I'm ready to learn exploiting everything out of my first x86-64 system. *drooling*

The thing is, I want to change every computer in my house to Linux, but since somebody comes around for a while (he usually tends to play games a lot) regulary, I need to keep a box running on Win2000 (for the games and for my mother, she just stares at everything that looks like a CLI, let alone telling her that I'm working in X...)

Actually, of the few games on my screen, HL works the best! The morrowind is kinda a joke: it installs well (takes a million hours), but for some reason it won't start. It _is_ possible to get it up though, and there's guides on the net.

As for HL, try Linux: Half-Life (http://lhl.linuxgames.com/)

And if games is what you need, then I seriously recommend picking up cedega (WineX),

It's still a pretty standard KDE desktop...but it's mine! :) The few tweaks I've got are a few transparencies, a couple of Superkaramba themes and gkrellm. I'll move on to the more advanced/customizable desktop/window managers when I get a bit more advanced.

I certainly see now why a bigger resolution is so valuable...I'm running out of real estate at 1024x768!!

PS--Any ideas as to why the screenshot is so fuzzy? I had to save it in the GIMP w/ a quality of .8 to get it under the JL size restriction...

I put the TWM screenshot just for nostalgia reasons on purpose to show what a WM would look before 1990 with the toolkits of the time.

I didn't use transparency or wallpapers for this reason. Both these "enhancements" can deceive.

My first encounter with 3ddesktop, I like it, I can see where what is while I'm switching or looking for it.

3 things I want to do:

Get rid of those stinking numbers that show.
Configure it for dual non xinerama desktops.
Bind it to the scroll wheel over the desktop in flux.

Hey! What version of Wine and MS Office do you run?

Great pic. I usually feel a little "clostrophobic" when I use two panels in top and bottom, so I prefer one panel even if I have less room in it (usually at the bottom).

I have tried KDE's MAC style, but it needs some more improvement.

Check for GkrellM or Gkdesklets. It's probably one of those.

Crossover Office Pro. not a bad investment at $80 but I wish it supported Office 2003.
