weird X in gnome wont disapear

Hey

i just installed ubuntu on my laptop and so far im really liking it ALOT.

however....
when ever log into gnome that little X that apears on the screen when you start X comes back and wont leave.
I expect it is just a setting that needs to be changed or the video driver isnt to frindly with my video card but, I dont know.

I installed ubuntu on another computer and it does not have the same problem.
Could it be that this is the only computer that I own that has a LCD display?

Sounds like it's using an invalid cursor so it's defaulting to the standerd X cursor...but it's stuck in busy?

I think i got it figured out.

Making it go away involves opening any window
and moving it around. (weird i know)

it would be nice if it just didnt show up
But, I can live with this remody.
