I have built a nice little KDE environment but would like to rebuild my OS....if I just backup my user /home folder, and restore that to the new OS, will i get my setup back? my icons, wallpaper settings, and such?

Hmse 10-26-2004, 10:51 PM Not necessarly, you still need to install each of the font/them.icon packages, because those are installed at the root level, or at least I believe so -- someone correct me if I'm wrong. But once you install each of those, if you then copy over the .kde folder from your old home dir, then it should restore at least most of the settings. happybunny 10-26-2004, 10:56 PM oh, right....but after i reinstall those icons and themes, my private .kde file should configure out ok? blobaugh 11-03-2004, 01:30 PM i have not done that with kde as i run flux, but when i moved to a new box i copied the all the folders containing to how i had modded flux for my tastes to the new box and was instantly back in my familiar environment justlinux.com
