1. How can I know which endianess does a system has?
2. When I used to use Mandrake Linux 9.0 I used to burn with something like this:
cdrecord dev=0,2,0
but now that I am using Slackware Linux 10.0 I burn with this:
cdrecord dev=0,0,0
Why this change?

I don't think your example has anything to do with endianess. Rather everything to do with;
1. The kernel version differences between Slack and Mandrake.
2. The cdrecord version differences between cdrecord on both systems.
