Recently I've been drooling over these ITX/Barebone PC's ... I have seen some that would even qualify at my mothers living room :-)

There's a lot to choose from, and I've never built one of these things, but I figure many of you guys have much more to say about this topic ...

What chassi/model/solution would you buy?


I thought I would use it as a multimedia center together with a flat '19 LCD

As far as I'm concerned, Shuttle is the king of SFF computers. I built a Shuttle XPC two years ago and am typing on it right now, running SUSE 9.1 Pro.

I plan on upgrading soon to the model that supports the Athlon 64 socket 939.

shuttle is good if you need a ton of power, but if you're just looking for something far simpler, mini-itx is very nice and fun.

Especially for you since most of the companies that are making this stuff are in the EU. (cheap shipping. for the us, try logic supply or a few other companies)
