Greetings all,

I'm currently in my 3rd year of a 4 year Computing Science degree. The course i am doing, i feel, leans towards Software Engineering alot and we don't really work with other OSs, just windows, in 2 years i have only had one class using Solaris. I've been using Linux as a desktop for a few years now and there are lots of things that i haven't even tried to learn yet. In the next two years i would like to step my knowledge up for when i graduate. Not saying i will get or take a job using Linux or Unix but i would feel better with a good knowledge of it behind me anyway.

My question is, although it may be a stupid one at that, is there some sort of Linux-Must-Know-Essential-List out there that can give me some idea as to what level of knowledge and skill is acceptable out there in the commercial world.

I suppose it would really depend on what job i was going for though.

Thanks for any help or pointers..

Cheers

take a look at an outline for one of the Linux Certifications (RHCE, etc.); that should give you a good idea.
