I seriously had to tell (brag to?) someone about this besides my mom (my mom obviously didn't care). I was over at my neighbor's house doing a quick driver fix on his computer, and as I was walking out the door from a job well done, I asked him on a side note if he has heard of anyone who was about throw away an older computer, because I needed one for a server.

Well, he said that he had one, and initially said that he would just charge me whatever a fair marked value (ebay) was on that computer (450 mhz pIII). As I was about to leave, however, he said that he decided that he would just give me the computer as a graduation present instead of selling it to me. Awesome, I thought, I finally have a nice linux server!

But that wasn't it at all. On top of giving me the 100-some dollar retail computer tower, he also gave me the freaking 21" dell trinitron flat screen monitor that he had laying around! I mean, this thing is F*ING HUGE! Here's an overstock link, just so you can get what I am talking about. http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?cid=17436&PAGE=PRODUCT&PROD_ID=302579&fp=F&siteID=G9DI0mIwIBY-fL_cpisK5dRRf9H0T3I8Cw# I almost got a friggin' dolly to take this out of his house! So basically, I am really excited, and I learned a few things from this experience:

1. People still are nice out there, you just have to look

2. It never hurts to ask

3. 21" monitors are LOVELY!

That sucker's a Sony inside. Good monitor too.

Does it, by chance, have the dual inputs and 1-2 switch?

[Duh!]

Never mind...just followed the Overstock link...it has BNCs on the back. Very good catch!

Wish my encounter like that turned out the same, instead im stuck with a True 21" (23") RGB-FF monitor that i cant use, the vid card died, as its Fixed Frequency you can't use it with just any video card, you have to have these 'special ones' and im not about to pay 220$ to find out if this monitor died or not when the video card died :(
