Hi. I know this has nothing at all to do with linux, but I can't think of any better place to ask for help and I am sure there must be some of you out there who know a little on the subject.

I am currently attempting, unsuccessfully, to mod a 1.6 xbox with an aladdin chip. The chip is an Aladdin XT Lite (v1.6 compatible) like the one shown in this picture: https://scrappy.safe-order.co.nz/secure/www.x-mods.co.nz/images/aladdinxtlite.jpg .
I have installed it exactly as in this guide http://aladdinlive.com/Aladdin1.6b.jpg . I admittedly screwed up a couple of the welds and put them onto the wrong spot but I have corrected this all now.
I am a little confused as to what the jumper pin on the side is for? I have placed the chip flat onto the motherboard and soildered the points accordingly. Is this correct, I think I understand someone on another thread saying something about using the jumperpins and pluging them into the place which says flash on other boards.
Another thing, I have soildered D0 onto some little spot on the back, but it also says something about earthing it, what does this do??

Currently when I turn the xbox on it will flash red green orange red orange green orange... green orange green orange green orange.... green orange green orange red green red green etc.
It also does not seem to make a difference wether I use the long or short press of the power button.
Nothing appears on the tv at all.

If anyone can enlighten me as to what I am doing wrong it will be greatly apreciated. Thanks alot
-John

I have been looking through there and another xbox site and can't find what I am after. I can not boot into either bios.

Booting off the chip without a cdrom or a dashboard should I see the flubber?

Usually when you get that flashing, it means the d0 point or one of the pin holes is not soldered correctly. And as for bioses, the chips ship with only a linux based bios, Comwell, since that is the only legal bios. And sometimes the Cromwell bios doesn't support the video output- it depends on what version it is.
The hacked bios has to be obtained via IRC on xbins. And to further add to the problems, the version 6 box is slightly different and some of the soldering points are different.
The best thing is to go to the Aladdin site and check out their forum. And look carefully at xbox-scenes tutorials.

ok, so looking back at the board the D0 soilder did look a little average, posibly a thread shorting out on another spot next to it. So I unsoildered it to redo it but now I can barely see the D0 spot and trying to soilder to it seems close to impossible now :'( Is there another place where I can soilder D0 or do I need to keep on trying at this one.

Cheers

You can take out the mainboard and solder to the backsode d0 point, it's a little bigger. Just run the wire though one of the holes.
