What would you like to see in the year 2050?The Jetsons had hover cars, and machines that bathed and cooked them breakfast.
I was just thinking about how I wish I had a 6Gb SD Card for my Zaurus. Then I thought, "By the time that comes out, I'll probably be wishing for 60Gb!".
In the year 2050, I think I would like a machine to take out the dog for me.
GNU/Linux where would you like to go tomorrow...

A time machine to go back to when times were easier. That was what my grandpop always wanted.

Being that in 2050, I'll be 86, assuming I live that long, I would hope that someone has found a way to reverse the aging process. I would love to live forever.

2050?
I should only be 68... I'd like to be in an old house, I think, made of wood. There I'd have an office with a big hardwood desk, paper and ink pens, and perhaps a trusty pipe with a nice plug of danish... Easy, simple, true- that's what I want.
And yeah, I know smoking's bad, but it's also really enjoyable if you keep it as an art! Linux'll be downstairs, of course, unless some new OpenSource OS comes out that runs Linux outta town. But then again, it'll probably be my own flavor of Slack. :D

I was forced to post this,
what a personal computer in 2004 was supposed to look like (http://www.strangecosmos.com/images/content/102847.jpg)

That image is hilarious! I just emailed that to my entire company and stated that it was "state of the art for 2004" and that we needed to review it for compatibility with the Dot Net framework.

EDIT AGAIN:
It seems the Pharoh used MS Windows.

Oh, I don't care if it is! My [L]users will just suck it up. My wife saw it and asked what's with the wheel? I thought it might have something to do with an early attempt at throttling :p

My wife goes to snopes every day. I get subjected to the odd news of what is true and what is not. Otherwise I don't normally care. :)

Idealistic me is still hoping for world peace. I think the computer and the internet are the means to go there - the more we communicate and grow together, the more we see us as one planet.
The biggest challenge for us techies in our modern world is to make sure the underpriviledged are not being left behind. What looks to us like a chunk of old hardware can still be very valuable for other people. Well, I guess telling this to Linux users is like carrying water into the Aare river (or carry coal to Newcastle, as they say in England). It's just important that we do something about it.
I think we should be wishing for decent weather to begin with. Predictions suggest that with global warming we will be living in a very different world. Computers for the masses sounds good to me too.
