gone thru the install nothing appeared to be a problem, On my last redhat install with the same hardware never had the same problem..

Ive tried apt-get install discover mdetect read-edid,
then re-doing dpkg-reconfigure-xserver-xfree86
selecting what seems to be ver modest monitor seetings in terms of res and refresh (even tho i know it can do 1600X1200 @100htz in windows)

Would be great if some one could help!

my x86 log (http://www.gorby.dsl.pipex.com/x86log.txt)

Try changing your driver from fbdev to nv (then install nvidias accelerated drivers, etc)

Is this a laptop by chance? I was getting the same message on a dell laptop till I found I had the LCD and the external monitor port turned on in the bios.
