No cursor in Simply Mepis 2004 LiveCD

Hello all!

Newb here. I just downloaded the newest Mepis live/install CD and I ran into a problem. The CD seems to work fine until I get to the login screen. Here I find that there is no cursor. I can click on things as if there was though. Any help with this? I've successfully used earlier versions of Mepis and am looking forward to having things working again! Thanks for the help.

But there was a cursor! You were the cursor when you realized there was no cursor on the screen. :)
If a USB mouse, maybe try unpluggin and replugging to activate hotplug. Or try a PS2 mouse if you have one. Or look on the Mepis site in the Howtos linked from th main page, there is one with a list of boot time arguments to use with Mepis, you could try "noapci", or maybe try the framebuffer driver (fbdrvr?) until you get the video and screen all set up.
