How does one close their account on this forum? I no longer wish to participate.
Thanks.

Send a rude threatening letter to one of the moderators.

I'm thinking something about burning bridges...someday when the moderators here rule the world you might regret every bad thing you ever said about them (not that I ever have of course;)).
However, that would get you removed from the board faster than SCO could sue you for infringing on their IP (making hollow threats, of course:D).

Yeah, an admin could delete your account, but there's really no point to it.
Just change your password to something you'll easily forget, and then walk away, as Gehidore suggested. Your account won't time out or anything, but it will fall into the depths of oblivion without your usage.

And set your email address to something you won't check after confirming that change, so that you don't get stuff like thread reply notifications to anything you may have subscribed to.
I would create a temporary alias on my mail server that points to me, use that alias as the new email address, then after confirming the address change, remove the alias so that mail going to that account bounces. But to do that you need to control your own mail server...

Or you could sign up for a spamgourmet account and just have it allow through only one message from JustLinux so you can confirm.

Ok. Here's the simple way to do it so that you don't get the email stuff.
Step 1: Click the button labeled "user cp" in the buttons above (it's the second from the left for those of you that can't read the buttons because they are soooo small)
Step 2: Click on "View all subscribed threads"
Step 3: Click on "Unsubscribe from all threads"
Step 4: (Optional) log out
Step 5: Now for the most important part. Are you ready?
Ok....
Here goes!
Are you excited yet?
I am nibbling my nails wating for this last and most important step!
Alright!
Walk away! :D
HTH and clears up some confusion over a few things.
Nope, not a moderator, just been around for a while. :)
