found an interesting way to chat.. you just use telnet so you can do it anyway from the console. just do:

telnet talkermud.com 5150

and create a login

NOTE: I don't benefit from this and there's not money or deal to do, it's just a free chat.

irc is fine, this chat (talker) is great for beginer.. easy commands, no robots, etc. it's just a place for people to chat about whatever ;)

Dude, MUDs are so, like, 2400 baud.

I remember MUDing the night away on my ZOOM 2400baud modem during summers in middle school-- I became a leader in a vampire clan! :cool:

Personally, I like interacting in a MUD more than in IRC. Because they're usually spatially oriented, you can walk around in areas and interact almost as if you walked into a pub where your friends usually hang out. Even though it's text based, it feels more "real" than IRC, as you can actually walk down the street and chat with people you know as you pass them by.
