hi people,
when i try to sign in hotmail account it shows message "login.passport.com" could not be found" what is the reason for this message.even though i can sign in same site through windows without any such message. similarly when i submit any other form on net it shows message like 'information u 've submited is to be sent through unencrypted connection so it can be read by any third party'. how do i go about resolving these problems.

thanks.

khurram.

Probably your firewall is blocking https...

Might be a Microsoft thing since they own Hotmail. I'm assuming you're using Linux to access Hotmail? Isn't MS's Passport setup proprietary?

Whenever you get online for the first time your browser will always tell you that sending info over the net un-encrypted is (in theory) possible to intercept by a 3rd party. Don't worry about that. You get the same message when you do a fresh install of windows the first time you use IExplorer; typically all browsers show that warning. Just deselect the "show me this warning everytime...." and move on. You will also get that when you are going from a secure site(such as hotmail or a banking site) and going to site that doesn't use encryption, like this ONE (http://homestarrunner.com/)
