Heh, imagine my suprise to open the link and see that it's a picnic when I read it as panic! :D

Wish I could go, I'm stuck in Illinois and am most likely not to be on the west coast anytime in the next 10 years :p

Well, I just read the "rules" and will not be attending.

"Beer and wine are BYO ("bring your own", not provided). Baylands Park rules say beer and wine are only allowed in the picnic areas as part of a meal. Other alcoholic beverages are not allowed."
The beer part is alright, but only with the meal? AT A Bar-B-Que? What kind of communist shin dig is this? I wonder if'n they'd let me bring some of my home-made elderberry wine, or does it have to be some of that hoyti-toyti French crap?

"Bicycles are OK - stay on trails and be careful of pedestrians."
What, no 4-wheelers? And if those danged pedestrians don't want to get run'd over they ought not have their butts on the ridin' trails.

"Please do not disturb any wildlife that you encounter."
I don't want to disturb any of the critters, just may want to shoot a couple to add to the grill. Make up for them "veggie burger" thangs, whatever the heck they are.

"Do not put anything (signs, etc) on trees."
I guess that leaves out gun targets too, don't it? Much less puttin' something up to have a knife/axe throwin' contest.

"No dogs or other domestic animals"
How in the world are you gonna tree any squirrels and such if you don't get to take a squirrel dog? And if your hound gets on a good 'coon trail your gonna need a horse to keep up with the run.

Just don't sound like it'd be too much fun to me.
