looks interesting, I'll have to give Gnome 2.8 a shot when it gets released, I am still a KDE fan but Gnome 2.6 is growing on me:)

You don't get your packages to upgrade from swaret, they come from the Slackware mirrors (or at least that's where I get mine).
Just set VERSION=current in /etc/swaret.conf, and you will get the latest versions of all your installed files. I believe that GNOME is up to 2.6.2 for the most part anyway.

BTW, I can't access www.swaret.org right now either. However you should still be able to update Slack regardless.
