ive got two older Dell pc's, one setup as a "play" server and the other as my workstation. My workstation has 1GB of ram, but the video, cd/dvd drives are kind of old. Im htinking about building a new workstation, and picking out each component, including the case. my other (easier) option is to just buy another refurb pc at a bargain price

anyone care to share their component list that has everything "linux friendly" i want to install Suse 9.1

also want DVD burner, usb 2.0

MB: A7N8X (my personal board) will have working sound/usb2/network, etc
Video: Anything Nvidia
Hardrive: I recommend WDs with 8meg caches... any would work

Buying for Linux is easy, as long as you arn't buying modems... most everything seems to work pretty well...

I even have an ATI TV Wonder, which works great with the bttv drivers. nothing like having tv available at a mouseclick...
