Well, I added some programs to my K-Menu, and also renamed some of the others like "enemy-territory" to "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory" for example. Nothing that should mess up anything.

Well everything added to the menu and edited just fine, everything on the menu worked without a single fault, and all applications launched just fine. But when I went back to further edit my K-menu in menu editor, the catagories that I edited will no longer expand to reveal the contents. When I try to close menu editor it prompts me to save the changes (that the menus have been emptied). Of course I take the option to not save. The menus still exist in the K-menu, just not in the K menu editor.

Please help! This is a huge nuisance. I have tried rebooting, but other than that, cant think of anything else to solve this problem as I have no idea if this program can be run from terminal to find error output.

What distro do you use? Some of them like Debian automatically adjust the menus for all the WM's based on what is installed on a system. These systems have thier own way of adding things to the menu, and using something like kmenuedit may or may not break the menu system.

Im using SuSE 9.1 Pro, so it makes sense, as it carries some propietary design, but its still Linux, and though it may "break" my menu, there still ought to be a way to fix it.

No dice? Chalk this up as a bug.

Update:

I upgraded to 3.2.3, as others have claimed this solved the issue. It solved half the problem. Unfortunately the half it solved doesnt help the user in the slightest.

Now when I go to edit the menu, I still cant expand the directories, edit them, or add anything. It just makes it so it no longer prompts me to save the emptied directories.

Seriously KDE people, what the hell? This is completely rediculous. Especially to leave such a major bug over so many versions. Its complete bull to expect me to uninstall and re-install KDE and start over on customizing it just to fix this, only to undoubtedly have to deal with this crap again when I want my KDE to look the way I want it.
