How to keep monitor on in Fedora

If you mean trying to keep your monitor from blanking out after so many minutes, have a look at xset. man xset

i tried using xset but still no luck. its keeps on blankin out after 5 mins.

Check that apmd isn't running or disable power saving features from BIOS. Also check that "Use power management" is disabled in screensaver settings.
