Thin-client computing / X-Windows

What can anyone tell me about hardware requirements for Thin-Clients using x-windows to a Linux server?

Is this done? What hardware/companies produce the thin clients etc..? (Obviously could use cheap pc's)

has anyone got experience or know about specific hardware they can point me too?

Hmm. I always thought it was as simple as exporting X to a network address, but I've only ever done this once, years ago.
Theoretically, your client could be any piece of cr*p with a graphics card and a network port.
But I'm no expert on thin clients.
