I am running Xandros 2.0 with KDE 3.1.4

I want to update to the latest stable version of KDE.

I am a disgusting noob.

I have tried to update via Xandros Networks, apt-get, and rpm.
Each attempt at all methods resulted in pathetic failure.

I now realize that linux is like most of the cute girls with whom i went to high school. Little teases who promise a lot and then hold out or reject you at the last moment, leaving you to sulk home with a pair of blueballs.

But anyways...

What would be the best method for me to accomplish my goal?
What do I need to do to successfully update KDE? (e.g. tell me how to start, what to do :) )

I probably shouldn't bother posting the errors I ran into, because I'm feeling like such a loser right now and I dont think it would help much anyways, as I am sure I screwed up the entire process from the very beginning.

Please help. I am sick of Windows.

"Edit" the title of your post to say "Problems upgrading KDE with apt" (or something similar) you'l get all the apt-enabled members to reply. I use Slack and apt is foreign to me.

Have you verified there are KDE 3.2.3 packages already built for Xandros 2.0?

Either on the Xandros website (ftp servers) or on the KDE ftp servers?

No, I haven't. Do there have to be packages built specifically for Xandros? It is Debian based. If there are no packages for it, is it still possible to install?

Yup.

See this page: http://www.kde.org/info/3.2.3.php

Don't be afraid to compile KDE from the sources. You'll learn quite a bit along the way, and it's fun.

If you put forth some effort and keep an open mind, you'll find that the above is patently false.
