First off, I know that this is a Windows related question. Second, I know that this is JUSTLINUX.com. That being said, I tend to find that linux users know windows better than windows users.

So, as for my question, I'm not sure if it's a software or hardware problem. I was using XP home on a >1yr old computer with a 3+yr old monitor. Then for no reason windows accessed the Zip 100 drive. Less than a second later, the monitor did this tv static thing for about five seconds and went away. The picture just got all distorted. Could this be caused by windows, or is it just my monitor going bad?

move the zip drive away from the monitor for a while....maybe causing "radiation" which is affecting your monitor.
