Ok I have isntalled Wine on my computer and have installed 2 programs the only problem I have now is how do I access these programs now? I have read the readme and I have done all the things it said to do but I dont know what I am doing wrong because I everytime I do wine winamp.exe it tells me that there is no file named winamp.exe and then returns me to the command line so what do I do now to load the programs???

PS. I am a Linux newbie just switched from Windows and I am running Redhat version 9.0 Now I know that this is an old version but I didnt know it at the time.... so all help will be greatly appreciated and you will have my never ending gratitude :D

You either need to specify the path to your windows executable, but this can be awkward.

OR navigate in a file manager to the windows executable file and then do a right hand mouse click and then chose->open with->then chose wine.

Make sure that you have any windows containing partitions mounted as this will make wine work better.

To try and see if wine is installed straight mount any windows partitions and then go to the shell and type
wine notepad.exe, this may take a while to load but will then give you a facsimile of notepad.

Hope this helps, let me know how you go.

You might want to have a look/search for Wine in the 'How I did it' forum as there has been quite a few how-to's written on the subject.
