Can someone help me out? I was trying to get the one off linux-gamers but the links seems to be down...:/
google doens't help much...is there a way to get the latest dll? off the windows drivers or something? (I'm assuming thats what the dll is based upon...)

never mind I found it :) just went to the root address of the file..and found the exact same tut in another language but the refering file (nvopengl) pointed elsewhere :)

It's needed for Windows.
Other than that, broken Linux packages maybe?

Its for steam....I think steam comes with a 3dfxgl file...which doesn't give you what your after....so u get a nvopengl (I'm guessing for nvidia cards only)...and it probably gives you better speeds for your card....
the tutorial for it is on www.linux-gamers.com :) .org, .net or something ....

Ahh, I see.
That explains why I don't know about it -- at some point shortly before Valve introduced Steam into HL and CS, I stopped updating both of them. I never play CS anymore, and the only times I play HL are in single player. And even that's not often.
