ok, i just received a powerpc 5260 from one of my teachers. the problem is, there is a program called "on guard" loaded onto it, and i do not knkow the administrator's name or password. i was wondering if there was a way for me to use my linux computer to telnet in or something and remove the extension form teh folder so that the prgoram does not start up. i already know what file, i just can't remove it. also, i do not know the ip address for the mac. btw, i am running mandrake 9.2

Have you tried finding a LiveCD for PPC that you could simply boot into and then edit the contents of the HDD? I don't currently have a PPC but here is a list of LiveCDs: http://www.frozentech.com/content/livecd.php

If it's got OnGuard on it, you're going to have to do some "1337-h4x0ring" to get into it.

You'll need a MacOS boot floppy. Boot to it, and then find the OnGuard extension in System Folder:Extensions. Move it out of that folder, and you should be in good shape, IIRC

Isn't that for x86 architectures? Won't quite work on a powerpc machine... :p
