I am wondering if anybody off-hand knows the average power draw of a desktop computer at the wall. I don't really care about how many watts are available after it has been transformed down becasue I am trying to make an estimate on how many kvh I am sucking up with my machine.

Just Curious
Thanks.

Probably about 300 watts for the box, (less than 200 watts @ 60% efficiency) and another 100 for other stuff (monitor, mostly), so about 400 watts. That would be my estimate, so... .4 kwh?

Could always measure it.. :)

EDIT: just looked at my monitor and saw a 2.0A rating, so that 100W extra might be kinda low. (more like 200W) That would change it to an even .5 kwh.

not that I know what I'm talking about anyway, :D
