Hey everyone. This is my first post. I just installed Suse 9.0 for the first time. I'm running duel boot w/ XP. Now I need a little help to get everything running right.

First of all, I need internet access b/c us nerds can't live w/o it. I have a lincsys wireless usb adapter that I need to get working. Suse recogniced my ethernet card, which is great. However, for the next 2 months of my life, wireless internet will be all that is available.

Linksys makes a whole bunch of different models of wireless USB adapters. I'd try doing a www.google.com/linux search for the model number. Could you at least post the model number here?

And some JL forum search results for 'wireless usb ethernet' (http://justlinux.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=955660&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) that may be of some help.

I do know that Linksys has some documentation/faq's etc. on their site for Linux.

I ought to add that the reason I ask for the exact and complete model number is because linksys has a habit of changing the chipsets of their product while retaining the orginal model number and version. I'm pretty sure the majority of the linksys wireless adapters work with linux but because of Linksys there are quite a few different drivers for the same product.

Ohh, that one's a classic. I'd wish you'd included the version number too though. WUSB11 v2.5 uses the linux-wlan-ng drivers which can be found here (http://www.linux-wlan.com/linux-wlan/). If your rocking v2.6 you'll need the ATMEL drivers, which can be found here (http://at76c503a.berlios.de/). The ATMEL website even has specfic information on SUSE... over here (http://at76c503a.berlios.de/distro_suse.html). In fact it seems that SUSE 9.0 already has the ATMEL driver included.

All this was found with google. Search and ye shall receive.

I recently configured an WUSB11 v2.6 under Mandrake so I should be able to help you out with most problems.

Peace out.

So you mean you don't physically have the device anywhere near you? Wow. You must have serious voodoo skills to configure it if it's somewhere else. :D

Seriously though, any questions at all post 'em up! I've used both the ATMEL and linux-wlan-ng drivers so hopefully I can help. Good luck!

BTW: If it helps I got my WUSB11 about a year ago and it's a v2.6 and uses the ATMEL drivers.
